  • Pelvic Pain
  • Pelvic pain occurs more commonly in women and often occurs during pregnancy. Up to 30% of low back pain is related to the pelvic joints. Common causes include:

    • Falling onto the bottom
    • A lifting injury
    • During pregnancy

With Pelvic Injuries, the sacroiliac joints are often involved. The activation of the core stability muscles are insufficient to cope with normal daily activities. Physiotherapy for this injury combines Manual therapy and education on how to reactivate these muscles and regain joint mobility and full function. Your Physiotherapist at Advanced Physio West can, if required, refer you for Radiological investigations or a Specialist appointment.
